What does CVC mean in yarn?
CVC stands for Chief Value Cotton — a polyester-cotton blended yarn where the cotton content is greater than 50%. In our range, the cotton component ranges from 52% (in CVC 52/48) to 80% (in CVC 80/20). The higher the cotton percentage, the softer and more breathable the yarn; the higher the polyester, the more durable and wrinkle-resistant the fabric.
What is Open End (OE) spinning?
Open End or rotor spinning produces yarn using a rotating rotor rather than the continuous twist drafting system of ring spinning. OE yarns are bulkier, slightly weaker in tensile strength compared to ring spun at the same count, but offer very high uniformity and are more economical to produce — making them ideal for coarser counts like Ne 8s to Ne 16s used in workwear, denim, and heavy fabrics.
Which CVC blend ratio should I choose?
For soft, comfortable end uses like casualwear or light knitwear, choose CVC 80/20 or 70/30. For workwear, uniforms, or fabrics that need to withstand heavy washing and wear, CVC 60/40 or 52/48 is more appropriate.
